एसी में टन का मतलब; वजन समझने की गलती (Meaning of ton in AC; Mistaken for weight)

भारत में गर्मी तेजी से है और साथ एयर कंडीशनर (एसी) की मांग है. नया एसी खरीदने का सोच हैं, जिसे समझना है- एसी टन कैपेसिटी. सोचते हैं कि “टन” का मतलब एसी वजन है, असल में एसी कूलिंग कैपेसिटी को दर्शाता है, न कि वजन.

Summer is increasing rapidly in India and so is the demand for air conditioners (ACs). If you are thinking of buying a new AC, then you need to understand AC ton capacity. People think that “ton” means AC weight, but in reality AC refers to cooling capacity, not weight.

टन का मतलब - एयर कंडीशनर की बात हैं, तो “टन” है कि एसी एक घंटे में कितनी गर्मी को कमरे से बाहर निकालता है. बीटीयू (ब्रिटिश थर्मल यूनिट) में मापता है : 1 टन एसी =12,000 बीटीयू/घंटा कूलिंग,1.5 टन एसी =18,000 बीटीयू/घंटा कूलिंग, 2 टन एसी =24,000 बीटीयू/घंटा कूलिंग.

Meaning of ton - When it comes to air conditioners, “ton” is how much heat the AC removes from the room in an hour. It is measured in BTU (British Thermal Unit): 1 ton AC = 12,000 BTU/hour cooling, 1.5 ton AC = 18,000 BTU/hour cooling, 2 ton AC = 24,000 BTU/hour cooling.

एसी की टन कैपेसिटी का चुनाव समय कमरे का आकार है: 1 टन एसी – छोटे कमरे (120 स्क्वायर फीट तक) सही, 1.5 टन एसी – मीडियम कमरे (120 से 180 स्क्वायर फीट) बढ़िया, 2 टन एसी – बड़े कमरे (180 स्क्वायर फीट से ऊपर) उपयुक्त.अगर छोटे कमरे में ज्यादा टन वाला एसी लगाते हैं, तो बिजली की फालतू खपत होगी. बड़े कमरे में कम टन वाला एसी लगाएं, तो ठंडक नहीं देगा और बिल ज्यादा आएगा.

The ton capacity of AC is chosen according to the size of the room: 1 ton AC – small rooms (up to 120 square feet) is good, 1.5 ton AC – medium rooms (120 to 180 square feet) is good, 2 ton AC – large rooms (above 180 square feet) is suitable. If you install a high ton AC in a small room, there will be wasteful consumption of electricity. If you install a low ton AC in a large room, it will not cool and the bill will be high.

कैपेसिटी -टन कैपेसिटी सिर्फ कूलिंग ही नहीं, बिजली खपत पर भी असर है. सही टन के साथ अगर हाई एनर्जी रेटिंग (जैसे 5-स्टार) वाला एसी लेते हैं, तो वह कुशलता से ठंडक देता है और बिजली का बिल कम आता है. अगर गर्म और उमस वाले इलाके में रहते हैं, तो ज्यादा टन वाला एसी फायदेमंद है.

Capacity – Ton capacity has an effect not only on cooling but also on electricity consumption. If you buy an AC with high energy rating (such as 5-star) with the right ton, it cools efficiently and the electricity bill is low. If you live in a hot and humid area, then a high ton AC is beneficial.

वजन -एसी में “टन” मतलब वजन नहीं, बल्कि ठंडक की कैपेसिटी है, तो खरीदारी कर सकते हैं. कमरे का साइज, इंसुलेशन और स्थानीय में रखते सही टन वाला एसी चुनें. एक सही टन का एसी गर्मियों ठंडा और बिजली बिल को हल्का है.

Weight – In AC, “ton” does not mean weight, but cooling capacity, then you can buy it. Choose an AC with the right ton keeping in mind the size of the room, insulation and locale. A right ton of AC cools the summers and lightens the electricity bills.
