1. धूप में न रखें - अक्सर गलती हैं कि कूलर को ऐसी जगह रखते हैं, जहां सीधी धूप पड़ती है. कूलर की ठंडक कम होती है और हवा गर्म लगती है. अगर घर में हर जगह धूप आती है, तो कूलर के ऊपर छाया का इंतजाम करें. छतरी, कपड़ा या किसी और चीज से कूलर को ढक दें ताकि सूरज की गर्मी उस पर असर न करे.

2. खुली जगह -अगर चाहते हैं कि कूलर ठंडी हवा दे, तो उसे खुली जगह पर रखें. बंद कमरे में रखने से कूलर की ठंडक कम होती है और उमस बढ़ती है. कूलर को खिड़की के पास या जाली वाले दरवाजे के पास रखा जाए, ताकि ठंडी हवा अच्छे से दे सके.

3. वेंटिलेशन -अगर कमरे में वेंटिलेशन (हवा आने-जाने जगह) नहीं है, तो कूलर ठंडी हवा देने की बजाय उमस बढ़ाता है. जिस कमरे में कूलर रखा है, वहां से हवा निकलने की जगह चाहिए। दरवाजा या खिड़की खुला रखें, ताकि ताजी हवा आती-जाती रहे और कूलर ठंडक दे सके.

4. घास -पुराने कूलर की समस्या है कि उसमें लगी घास (कूलर पैड) खराब होती है. घास में धूल और गंदगी जमती है, जिससे पानी सही से नहीं फैलता और हवा ठंडी नहीं लगती, हर सीजन में कम से कम दो बार घास बदलें. साथ ही, घास के बीच में थोड़ा गैप हो ताकि हवा अच्छे से निकल सके.

5. पानी फ्लो -अगर कूलर के वॉटर पंप में सही से पानी नहीं पहुंच रहा है, तो कूलर ठंडी हवा नहीं देगा. कई बार कूलर में पानी के पाइप या होल बंद होते हैं, जिससे पानी सही से नहीं गिरता और घास सूखी रहती है. कूलर के वॉटर पंप को चेक करें और पानी के होल को साफ रखें ताकि पानी घास तक पहुंच सके.
