1 जुलाई 2024 से सिम पोर्ट का नियम बदल रहा है. भारतीय दूरसंचार नियामक प्राधिकरण ने बताया है कि सिम बदलवाने के बाद सिर्फ 7 दिन इंतजार होगा, पहले 10 दिन का इंतजार था. ये बदलाव इसलिए है ताकि दिक्कत न हो.मोबाइल नंबर एक टेलीकॉम कंपनी से दूसरी कंपनी में बदलवाने की प्रक्रिया को सिम पोर्ट हैं. सिम स्वैप स्कैम से बचने के लिए सिम पोर्ट से पहले थोड़ा इंतजार है. ये समय 10 दिन था, जिसे अब घटाकर 7 कर दिया है.

सिम स्वैप स्कैम में स्कैमर फिशिंग के जरिए की जानकारी चुराते हैं. फिशिंग में जालसाजी वाले ईमेल या मैसेज भेजते हैं. मैसेज या तो कंपनी या बैंक के नाम पर भेजते हैं. ऐसे लिंक या फाइल हैं जिनसे फोन में मालवेयर डाउनलोड है, जो पर्सनल जानकारी चुराता है.

In SIM swap scam, scammers steal information through phishing. In phishing, fraudulent emails or messages are sent. Messages are sent either in the name of the company or the bank. There are links or files from which malware is downloaded in the phone, which steals personal information.

हैकर्स चुराई जानकारियों का इस्तेमाल कर, मोबाइल कंपनी के पास फर्जी दस्तावेज हैं और फोन चोरी हो गया है. मोबाइल कंपनी एक नई सिम जारी है और नंबर पोर्ट करती है. चोर इस नई सिम का इस्तेमाल कर बैंक अकाउंट से पैसे निकालने के लिए जरूरी ओटीपी हासिल हैं.ये नए नियम दूरसंचार मोबाइल नंबर पोर्टेबिलिटी (नौवां संशोधन) विनियम, 2024 का हिस्सा हैं, जिन्हें ट्राई ने 14 मार्च 2024 को जारी था. इन नियमों में पहले भी आठ बार बदलाव किए हैं. "ये संशोधन नियम मोबाइल नंबर पोर्टिंग को धोखाधड़ी वाले सिम स्वैप या बदलाव से रोकने के लिए हैं."
