Medi Assist Healthcare Services Limited is a technology-based company playing a vital role in the health insurance ecosystem. It is India's largest health benefits administrator in terms of revenues and premiums for health insurance policies for the financial years 2018, 2019 and 2020. While under TPA regulations, the company's primary customers are insurance companies, it acts as an intermediary between (a)(b) general and health insurance companies and insured members (under retail, corporate and insurance-backed public health insurance policies), (b) insurance companies and health service providers, and (c) beneficiaries of government and public health schemes. The company spent Rs. 7,830 crore of health insurance premiums for FY 2020, and also had a market share of 17% in the private health insurance market and a market share of 29% in the private health insurance market driven by health benefit administrators in India, premiums under management.
