कारों के बंपर आजकल प्लास्टिक के हैं. प्लास्टिक के बंपर हल्के हैं. इनके हल्के से कार को कई फायदे हैं. इनसे कार का माइलेज बेहतर होता है और कीमत कम रहती है. लेकिन, क्या होगा अगर कारों के बंपर लोहे या स्टील के दिए जाने लगें? पहले कारों के बंपर लोहे और स्टील के होते थे लेकिन फिर प्लास्टिक के बंपर से बदल दिया और कारों में प्लास्टिक बंपर आते हैं. समझते हैं कि अगर कारों के बंपर लोहे या स्टील के दिए जाएं तो क्या होगा?

The bumpers of cars nowadays are made of plastic. Plastic bumpers are light. There are many benefits to the car due to its light weight. 1. वजन, लागत :-लोहे या स्टील से बने बंपर प्लास्टिक बंपर में ज्यादा वजनदार होंगे. कार का कुल वजन बढ़ जाएगा. साथ ही, प्लास्टिक की तुलना में लोहा और स्टील महंगा है. यानी, लोहे और स्टील के बंपर दिए जाने से कार बनाने की लागत भी बढ़ेगी, जिसस कार खरीदने के लिए ज्यादा कीमत चुकानी होगी.

2. फ्यूल एफिशिएंसी :- लोहे या स्टील के बंपर से कार का वजन बढ़ेगा तो असर माइलेज पर होगा. वजन बढ़ने से कार को आगे लेने के लिए ज्यादा पावर की जरूरत होगी, इस लिए इंजन पर जोर पड़ेगा और फ्यूल की खपत बढ़ेगी. यानी, लोहे या स्टील के बंपर से कार का माइलेज घटेगा.
