गूगल भूकंप चेतावनी सिस्टम भारत आ रहा है. ये फीचर साल 2020 लॉन्च किया था. अब भारत में इसे उतारने वाला है. एक ब्लॉगपोस्ट में, गूगल ने ऐलान किया था कि उसने राष्ट्रीय आपदा प्रबंधन प्राधिकरण (एनडीएमए) और पृथ्वी विज्ञान मंत्रालय के राष्ट्रीय भूकंप विज्ञान केंद्र (एनसीएस) के सहयोग से एंड्रॉइड भूकंप अलर्ट सिस्टम लॉन्च किया है. भूकंप को लेकर दुनिया के कई इलाकों में डर का माहौल है और भारत और पड़ोसी देशों में भूकंप आ रहे हैं ऐसे में ये फीचर लॉन्च एक राहत की तरह काम करेगा. एंड्रॉइड भूकंप अलर्ट सिस्टम एंड्रॉइड स्मार्टफ़ोन में मौजूद एक्सेलेरोमीटर का इस्तेमाल कर अलर्ट देता है.

गूगल अनुसार जब प्लग-इन और चार्जिंग वाला एंड्रॉइड फोन भूकंप के झटकों का पता लगाता है, तो यह इस डेटा को एक केंद्रीय सर्वर पर भेजता है. एक क्षेत्र में कई फोन समान झटकों का पता लगाते हैं, तो सर्वर भूकंप की विशेषताओं का अनुमान लगाता है, जिसमें केंद्र और तीव्रता शामिल है. यह तेजी से आस-पास के एंड्रॉइड डिवाइसों पर अलर्ट भेजता है.

According to Google, when a plugged-in and charging Android phone detects an earthquake, it sends this data to a central server. When multiple phones in an area detect similar tremors, the server estimates the earthquake's characteristics, including epicenter and intensity. It quickly sends alerts to nearby Android devices.

ये अलर्ट प्रकाश की गति से इंटरनेट पर प्रसारित हैं, अक्सर गंभीर झटके से कई सेकंड पहले उपयोगकर्ताओं तक पहुंचते हैं. अलर्ट के हिसाब से डिज़ाइन किए हैं और एंड्रॉइड द्वारा सपोर्टेड विभिन्न भारतीय भाषाओं में उपलब्ध हैं, जो एक विस्तृत श्रृंखला के लिए पहुंच सुनिश्चित करते हैं.

These alerts are transmitted across the Internet at the speed of light, often reaching users several seconds before a serious shock occurs. The alerts are custom-designed and available in various Indian languages ​​supported by Android, ensuring accessibility to a wide range.

एंड्रॉइड 5 या नए संस्करण चलाने वाले डिवाइस एंड्रॉइड को आने वाले सप्ताह में ये फीचर मिल जाएगा, यूजर्स वाई-फाई या सेलुलर डेटा कनेक्टिविटी हो और यह सुनिश्चित होगा कि एंड्रॉइड भूकंप अलर्ट और लोकेशन सेटिंग्स दोनों इनेबल हैं. जो अलर्ट प्राप्त नहीं करते, उनके लिए डिवाइस सेटिंग्स में भूकंप अलर्ट बंद का ऑप्शन दिया है. 

Devices running Android 5 or newer will get the feature in the coming weeks, provided users have Wi-Fi or cellular data connectivity and ensure both Android earthquake alerts and location settings are enabled. For those who do not receive alerts, there is an option to turn off earthquake alerts in the device settings.
