हाईवे पर कई लेन है. अपनी स्पीड के हिसाब से लेन चुनें और उसी पर ड्राइव करते रहें जब तक कि लेन बदलने की जरूरत ना लगे. अगर धीरे चल रहे हैं तो बाईं लेन पर बने रहें. सबसे दाहिनी लेन सबसे तेज़ लेन है और इस्तेमाल वाहनों को ओवरटेक करने के लिए किया जाना चाहिए. लेन बदलते समय टर्न इंडिकेटर का उपयोग जरूर करें.

ओवरटेकिंग : कभी हाईवे पर गैर जिम्मेदार होकर ओवरटेकिंग ना करें. ओवरटेक के लिए इंतजार करें और जब ओवरटेक करने के लिए लेन बदल रहे हों तो इंडिकेटर का इस्तेमाल करें.  आपके पीछे आने वाले वाहन ज्यादा करीब ना हों ताकि ओवरटेक कर पाएं. ओवरटेक के लिए दाहिनी लेन सबसे सेफ होती है.
