भारतीय ऑटोमोटिव उद्योग में कार्बन फुटप्रिंट को कम करने की दिशा में काम है, इस लिए उत्सर्जन मानदंड तय हैं. बीएस6 फेज दो में उत्सर्जन मानदंड को और मजबूत है. ईवी पर काफी ध्यान दिया है. ईवी को बढ़ावा दिया है क्योंकि यह कम प्रदूषण करती हैं. ICE कारों के लिए बीएस6 फेज-2 लागू है, इस कारण कई कारें बंद है क्योंकि वह बीएस6 फेज-2 के उत्सर्जन मानदंड के अनुसार नहीं थीं.

There is work towards reducing the carbon footprint in the Indian automotive industry, hence the emission norms are fixed. The emission norms are further strengthened in BS6 Phase II. A lot of attention has been given to EV. EV has been promoted because it pollutes less. BS6 Phase-2 is applicable for ICE cars, due to which many cars are closed because they were not as per the emission norms of BS6 Phase-2.

इनमें ज्यादा मॉडल होंडा के है, जापानी निर्माता के कुल 5 मॉडल बंद हैं. जैज, सिटी चौथा जीन और डब्ल्यूआर-वी क्रॉसओवर को पूरी तरह से बंद कर दिया है. होंडाने शहर 5 वीं पीढ़ी और अमेज के डीजल पावरट्रेन को बंद है, यानी इन दोनों कारों में डीजल इंजन ऑप्शन नहीं मिलेगा. हाल के दिनों में पर कॉम्पैक्ट और सब-कॉम्पैक्ट हैचबैक तथा सेडान स्पेस में डीजल की लोकप्रियता घटी है.

Most of these models are from Honda, a total of 5 models of the Japanese manufacturer have been discontinued. Jazz, City 4th gen and WR-V crossovers have been completely discontinued. Honda has discontinued the diesel powertrains of the 5th generation City and Amaze, which means that both these cars will not get a diesel engine option. In recent times, the popularity of diesel has declined in the compact and sub-compact hatchback and sedan space.
