कारों का वेटिंग पीरियड स्कैम है? झांसे में आते हैं ग्राहक! (Waiting period for cars is a scam? Customers fall in the trap!)

आज कल गाड़ियों पर ज्यादा वेटिंग पीरियड मिलता है. बहुत से लोगों को इसकी शिकायत भी रहती है कि कार बुक के महीनों बाद उन्हें डिलीवरी है या मिलेगी. कुछ कारों के मामले में तो लगभग डेढ़ साल तक का भी वेटिंग पीरियड है. यानी, कार बुकिंग के बाद डिलीवरी तक के बीच का समय ज्यादा है. कहीं कोई स्कैम तो नहीं है? कहीं वेटिंग पीरियड में कंपनियां उल्लू तो सीधा नहीं कर रही हैं? कई मायनो में कार के लंबे वेटिंग पीरियड का फायदा कंपनी और डीलरशिप, दोनों को मिलता है. चलिए, अलग-अलग नजरिए से देखते हैं. 

Nowadays there is more waiting period on vehicles. Many people also complain about whether they have or will get delivery after months of booking the car. In the case of some cars, there is a waiting period of up to one and a half years as well. That is, the time between car booking till delivery is more. Is there any scam somewhere? Are the companies not straightening the owls in the waiting period? In many ways, the long waiting period of the car benefits both the company and the dealership. Let's see from different perspective.

कार मेकर्स के लिए वेटिंग पीरियड एक अवार्ड जैसा है. जब किसी कार पर 4 महीने, 6 महीने, 8 महीने, 10 महीने या दो साल के वेटिंग पीरियड में सुनते हैं तो आपके दिमाग में क्या है? पहले दिमाग में आया कि यह कार तो सुपरहिट है, इसकी डिमांड है और ज्यादा लोग खरीद रहे हैं. ऐसे में लगेगा कि इतने लोग इसे खरीद रहे हैं तो कार अच्छी ही होगी. इसी का फायदा कार मेकर्स को है. उनकी बुकिंग बढ़ती हैं. कई डीलर्स तो गाड़ियों के वेटिंग पीरियड को बड़े-बड़े अक्षरों में हाईलाइट करते हैं.

For car makers, the waiting period is like an award. What's on your mind when you hear about a 4 month, 6 month, 8 month, 10 month or two year waiting period on a car? First it came to my mind that this car is a superhit, it is in demand and more people are buying it. In such a situation, it would seem that so many people are buying it, then the car must be good. Car makers have the advantage of this. Their bookings increase. Many dealers even highlight the waiting period of the vehicles in big letters.

कई बार ज्यादा लंबे वेटिंग पीरियड का फायदा डीलरशिप वाले हैं. महिंद्रा एक्सयूवी 700 और महिंद्रा थार जैसी पॉपुलर एसयूवी के लॉन्च के बाद वेटिंग पीरियड ज्यादा था. इसका फायदा कई डीलरशिप ने जल्दी डिलीवरी के नाम पर ज्यादा पैसे लेकर उठाया. कई बार जब वेटिंग पीरियड ज्यादा है तो डीलरशिप कार के टॉप वेरिएंट की डिलीवरी जल्दी करने का झांसा है और ग्राहकों से उसे बुक के लिए कहती है. इससे ज्यादा पैसे हैं क्योंकि टॉप वेरिएंट ज्यादा महंगा है.

Sometimes the dealerships have the advantage of longer waiting period. After the launch of popular SUVs like Mahindra XUV 700 and Mahindra Thar, the waiting period was longer. Many dealerships took advantage of this by charging more money in the name of early delivery. At times, when the waiting period is high, the dealership pretends to hurry up the delivery of the top variant of the car and asks the customers to book it. More money than this as the top variant is more expensive.

 सिर्फ इतनी नहीं है. पिछले कुछ समय के दौरान सप्लाई चेन प्रभावित है, जिससे कारों के निर्माण और आपूर्ति पर असर है. साल 2020 में कोरोना वायरस आने के बाद सप्लाई चेन प्रभावित और सेमीकंडक्टर की कमी हो गई. इससे कारों की मैन्युफैक्चरिंग घट गई. गाड़ियों का निर्माण कम हुआ लेकिन डिमांड जारी रही. इस वेटिंग पीरियड बढ़ा है.

That's not all. The supply chain has been affected in the recent past, affecting the manufacturing and supply of cars. After the arrival of Corona virus in the year 2020, the supply chain was affected and there was a shortage of semiconductors. This reduced the manufacturing of cars. The production of vehicles decreased but the demand continued. This waiting period has increased.
