इंडिया के कॉम्पिटिटिव एग्जाम्स जैसे UPSC, SSC, रेलवे, बैंक, मैनेजमेंट एंट्रेंस (CAT, XAT, CMAT) में जनरल नॉलेज (सामान्य ज्ञान) का सेक्शन है। कुछ एग्जाम्स में यह रिटन टेस्ट में उतना उपयोगी ना होकर, बाद वाले ग्रुप डिस्कशन और इंटरव्यू राउंड के लिए है। लेकिन पढ़ाई हो, एग्जाम हो या नौकरी, जनरल नॉलेज हर जगह यूजफुल है।

Competitive Exams of India like UPSC, SSC, Railway, Bank, Management Entrance (CAT, XAT, CMAT) have General Knowledge (General Knowledge) section. In some exams, this written test is not as useful as it is for the subsequent Group Discussion and Interview rounds. But be it studies, exams or jobs, general knowledge is useful everywhere.

जनरल नॉलेज (General Knowledge)

शरीर से लेकर सोसाइटी, कल्चर, सिविलाइजेशन, कम्युनिटी, पर्यावरण, विज्ञान, देश और देश-समूहों के बारे में अवेयरनेस ही जनरल नॉलेज है। कॉम्पिटिटिव एग्जाम्स के लिए जनरल नॉलेज में टाइम और एफर्ट दोनों लगता है। केवल दो-तीन महीने में नहीं किया जा सकता। ये भी है कि अच्छा जनरल नॉलेज पर्सनल ग्रोथ और एक अच्छा सिटीजन बनने में मदद करता है।

From the body to society, culture, civilisation, community, environment, science, country and country-groups, awareness is general knowledge. General Knowledge takes both time and effort for competitive exams. It cannot be done in just two-three months. It is also that good general knowledge helps in personal growth and becoming a good citizen.

दो प्रकार का नॉलेज (Two types of knowledge)

(1) स्टैटिक जनरल नॉलेज 

 Static General Knowledge

(2) डायनेमिक जनरल नॉलेज।

 Dynamic General Knowledge.

स्टैटिक GK में स्कूलों में कक्षा 10 तक पढ़ाने वाले सभी विषय जैसे, भूगोल, इतिहास, नागरिक शास्त्र, अर्थशास्त्र, सामान्य विज्ञान, पर्यावरण इत्यादि सभी कुछ शामिल है। यह लगभग हर परीक्षा के लिए सामान्य जागरूकता का एक अनिवार्य हिस्सा है।

Static GK covers all the subjects taught in schools up to class 10th like Geography, History, Civics, Economics, General Science, Environment etc. It is an essential part of General Awareness for almost every exam.

 डायनेमिक जनरल नॉलेज को करंट अफेयर्स भी कहता है। इसे विभिन्न क्षेत्रों जैसे, इकोनॉमी, पॉलिटी एंड गवर्नेंस, डिफेन्स, एनवायरनमेंट एंड इकोलॉजी, सोशल, इंटरनेशनल अफेयर्स, गवर्नमेंट स्कीम्स, साइंस एंड टेक्नोलॉजी, आर्ट्स एंड कल्चर, स्पोर्ट्स इत्यादि में बांटा है।

 Dynamic general knowledge is also called current affairs. It is divided into different areas like, Economy, Politics and Governance, Defense, Environment and Ecology, Social, International Affairs, Government Schemes, Science and Technology, Arts and Culture, Sports etc.

किसी भी रेस (दौड़) की तरह, जनरल नॉलेज की तैयारी भी तीन फेज में की  है - स्टार्ट - रन - फिनिश

Like any race, preparation for General Knowledge is also done in three phases - Start - Run - Finish

1) फेज 1: स्टार्ट - जनरल नॉलेज पढ़ने से पहले की जाने वाली तैयारी

1) Phase 1: START - Preparation to be done before studying General Knowledge

ये बात पूरी सच नहीं है कि एग्जाम्स में कहीं से भी प्रश्न पूछते हैं।हर एग्जाम की पहले से तय रेंज और पैटर्न होता है। तो एमबीए एंट्रेंस टेस्ट में अधिकतर प्रश्न बैंकिंग, इकोनॉमिक्स, इंडियन और वर्ल्ड इकोनॉमी, बिजनेस इत्यादि क्षेत्रों से हैं।

It is not entirely true that questions are asked from anywhere in the exams. Every exam has a pre-determined range and pattern. So most of the questions in MBA Entrance Test are from the areas of Banking, Economics, Indian and World Economy, Business etc.

फेज 1 की स्ट्रेटेजी – FARRATE (फर्राटे) अर्थात Focus, Analysis, Resources, Time-table

फोकस - कॉम्पिटिटिव एग्जाम के लिए GK की तैयारी करते वक्त उसी एग्जाम पर फोकस करें जिसकी आप तैयारी हैं।

Focus - While preparing for GK for Competitive Exam, focus on the exam you are preparing for.

एनालिसिस- इंटरनेट पर उपलब्ध सोर्सेस से उस एग्जाम के पिछले सालों के एनालिसिस और पेपर्स देखें।

Analysis- Check previous years analysis and papers of that exam from the sources available on the internet.

रिसोर्सेज - उसके बाद, इन एरियाज और टॉपिक्स को तैयार करने के लिए स्टडी मटेरियल जैसे की-बुक्स, टाइप्ड नोट्स, पीडीएफ, वीडियो आदि जो भी आपको आवश्यक लगे, उसका इंतजाम करें।

Resources - After that, arrange study material like key-books, typed notes, PDF, videos etc. whatever you find necessary to prepare these areas and topics.

टाइम-टेबल - फिर इस जुटाए गए स्टडी मटेरियल को पूरी तरह से पढ़ने का प्लान मतलब टाइम टेबल बनाएं। शेड्यूल प्रैक्टिकल बनाएं, मतलब ऐसा जिसे आप रोज कर पाएं।

Time-Table - Then plan to read this collected study material completely. Make a time table. Make the schedule practical, meaning something that you can do everyday.

2) फेज 2: रन - जनरल नॉलेज की पढ़ाई - CRAWWL - Curious, Read, Watch, Write और Listen अप्रोच

​​​​​​​CURIOUS (जिज्ञासु) बनें - अपने आस-पास के माहौल के प्रति जिज्ञासु प्रवृत्ति आपके लिए जनरल नॉलेज की पढ़ाई आसान बनाती है। हमारी डेली लाइफ में कितने ही प्रश्न हमारे दिमाग में आते हैं लेकिन हम उनका उत्तर ढूंढने के बजाय उन प्रश्नों को इग्नोर करते है। ऊंची इमारतों में चढ़ने के लिए हम लिफ्ट का सहारा लेते हैं, लिफ्ट का इन्वेंशन किसने किया.

2) Phase 2: Run - Learning General Knowledge - CRAWWL - Curious, Read, Watch, Write and Listen Approach

​Be CURIOUS (Curious) - Curious attitude towards the environment around you makes it easy for you to study General Knowledge. Many questions come to our mind in our daily life but instead of looking for their answers, we ignore those questions. To climb high buildings, we take the help of lift, who invented the lift.

एक या दो इंग्लिश और एक हिंदी या क्षेत्रीय भाषा का न्यूज पेपर रोजाना पढ़ने की आदत बनाएं। न्यूज पेपर में क्या पढ़ना है यह भी इम्पोर्टेन्ट है, एडिटोरियल अर्थात सम्पादकीय, इंटरनेशनल, नेशनल, न्यूज जरूर पढ़ें। आप ई-पेपर का सब्स्क्रिप्शन लेते हैं।

Make it a habit to read one or two English and one Hindi or regional language news paper daily. What to read in a news paper is also important; must read the editorial, that is, editorial, international, national, news. You subscribe to the e-paper.

गुणवत्तापूर्ण समाचार, डॉक्यूमेंट्री, यू-ट्यूब पर उपलब्ध विभिन्न रेपुटेड वीडियोज जैसे TED Talks, परीक्षा के एक्सपर्ट्स द्वारा डाले गए वीडियोज देखें। उदाहरण के लिए-डीडी न्यूज, डिस्कवरी, हिस्ट्री चैनल इत्यादि। सच्ची घटनाओं, आत्मकथाओं पर आधारित फिल्में देखें। विभिन्न खेल भी देखते हैं।

Watch quality news, documentaries, various reputed videos available on YouTube like TED Talks, videos put by exam experts. For example- DD News, Discovery, History Channel etc. Watch movies based on true events, biographies. Also watch various sports.

पढ़ी, देखी और सुनी गई सभी चीजों के प्रिसाइस, क्रिएटिव नोट्स लिखते हैं। कई परीक्षाओं में निबंध लिखने के लिए हैं।खुद लिखी हुई चीजों को याद रखना आसान है। निमोनिक्स और विजुअलाइजेशन/चित्र मदद हैं।

Writes precise, creative notes of everything read, seen and heard. Many exams are meant for writing essays. It is easy to remember things written by yourself. Mnemonics and visualization/pictures are help.

जनरल नॉलेज बढ़ाने के लिए सुनना, समय बचाते हुए नॉलेज प्राप्त करने का एक बढ़िया तरीका है, क्योंकि आप इसे कुछ और मेकेनिकल काम जैसे, एक्सरसाइज, कुकिंग, ट्रेवलिंग, टाइपिंग इत्यादि के साथ करते हैं। आप किसी भी चैनल, यू-ट्यूब या रेडियो से न्यूज, पॉडकास्ट सुन सकते हैं, फ्री उपलब्ध ऑडियोबुक्स सुनते हैं।

Listening to increase general knowledge is a great way to gain knowledge while saving time as you combine it with some more mechanical work like exercising, cooking, traveling, typing, etc. You can listen to news, podcasts, listen to free audiobooks from any channel, YouTube or radio.

3) फेज 3: फिनिश - फाइनल टच (Phase 3: Finish - Final Touch)

यह फेज परीक्षा से एक-डेढ़ महीने पहले शुरू है। इस दौरान अपने नोट्स का रिविजन करें, मॉक टेस्ट अधिक मात्रा में दे, एनालिसिस करें। परीक्षा से एक या दो दिन पहले, कुछ भी न पढ़ें, बस आराम करें और महीनों की कड़ी मेहनत को अंजाम दें।

This phase starts one and a half months before the exam. In the meantime, revise your notes, give more mock tests, do analysis. A day or two before the exam, don't read anything, just relax and do months of hard work.
